We want to wish everyone and their families a very Merry Christmas, fill up your bellies with goodies, laugh lots and repeat.

We’re winding closer to Christmas and the New Year! Are you guys ready? We’re not!

Cheers to last minute gifts and procrastinating!

Why aren’t we talking about food?..Christmas menu!

Hmm I am still drafting up our menu over here. I’m thinking:

  • Dad’s traditional juicy prime rib in my near future (a must every Christmas)
  • Yay! For Food’s Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Balsamic-Maple Glaze. I’m actually very excited to try brussels sprouts for the first time but Terry isn’t too ecstatic about the idea of having brussels sprouts. Well too bad! 😛
  • Easy 5 Ingredient Popovers from Yay! For Food because I have never had popovers before and this looks so simple! Bonus? It will be doing double duty and it will probably be breakfast for me the next day as well.
  • Terry’s mom’s famous cherry cheese cake (apparently I’m not allowed to not make this.)

What is everyone doing this year on their Christmas menu?

Quiet Time or Party Time for the New Year?

We will be ringing in the new year with some low key snacks with my deep fryer (yep, it’s wrecking havoc here), a *few* drinks and playing a video game or two, maybe even a board game if we have the brain capacity for it after a few drinks! Pretty low key and quiet, which is heaven for introverts! 🙂

What will you guys be doing to ring in the 2017 new year? Party hard or sleep before midnight?

With my luck, I’ll wake up the next morning looking like how the boys below with a massive headache, and hangover and then crawl right back to bed. haha 🙂

  1. Joyce, your pups are so cute. I just want to hug them. The last pic is the best! ha ha.

I’m so flattered that you’re going to try out a couple of my recipes for Christmas! I’m excited for you to test it out and hope that you and Terry like it, especially those Brussels sprouts! The prime rib and cheesecake sound so tasty too.

I get to double-up and get even chunkier over the next few days. My husband grew up eating Chinese food take-out for Christmas Eve so we are going to do that with his mom. For Christmas, my dad insists on taking over dinner (nothing new). I have no idea what he is planning, but lets just say that there will be plenty of leftovers. For New Years, this year, we are likely going to watch the lame New Year’s countdown on tv, drink, and then sleep in. Brunch out on New Years is mandatory though!

    Have a Merry Christmas too!

    1. Haha Thanks! They seem to enjoy snuggles with each other more than snuggles with me. Apparently it has something to do with my Elmira-ness, according to my dad and Terry (You remember from Tiny Toons?) ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
They look hilariously stoned in the last picture but they were actually sunbathing/sun-napping when I decided to bother them by sticking my camera in their face. haha
Your recipe looks fantastic! I love maple syrup and caramelizing the balsamic would make it also sweet too! MmmMMmmm I’m excited about watching the popovers rise in the oven, weird eh? I’ll tag you so you can see how it turns out 🙂

Oh don’t worry, I am in the same boat. I’m pretty sure I’ll be doing a Chinese Restaurant Christmas, a Roast beef Christmas and a Terry Christmas in a span of a week. :S
Sounds like a really good holiday jam packed with good food <3

  2. What a lovely of these dogs pics are !! So cute. You got them so well trained. Look calm and full of confident… haha.
In terms of food for Christmas dinner, no doubt prime ribs is my top selection, then mix with Brussel sprouts. HOW WONDERFUL! I’m looking into this gourmet meal for my Christmas . HO! HO! HO!

    1. Thank you! It actually took a lot of treats to get them to pay attention to me haha! The happy little fluffy buggers loved eating half a bag of treats. Happy Holidays and wishing you a great new year! 🙂
