There are many different types of cuisines from China, but this list will focus on what I think is a very underrated one - Cantonese cuisine which originates from the province of Guangdong. Most will recognize Cantonese foods from dim sum, but here are a few more, including some traditional home-cooked versions that are not common in restaurants and are mostly made by Chinese families at home.
Sweet and Sour Chicken (Hong Kong Style)

If you're a fan of sweet and sour pork, then you should definitely try sweet and sour chicken. If you're wondering what the difference is, the batter is lighter with less aromatics so it is a lighter version which brings out the flavor of the sweet and sour sauce more. The Hong Kong version is also less on the sweet side and has more of a balanced tart and sweet flavor.

Char Siu (Chinese BBQ Pork)
Chinese BBQ pork is used in many rice and noodle dishes, but it's actually not that intimidating or difficult to make at home as well! It's actually quite easy to make at home both in the oven and over the grill, the key is to get the char at the very end which thickens the sauce makes it super sweet and sticky.

Singapore Noodles

That's because Singapore noodles actually originates from Hong Kong and is a very popular takeout dish there!
